STATEMENT

In light of recent videos of physical assault and bullying that have been circulating on social media platforms we are deeply disturbed by the acts of violence depicted by one specific individual, as well as by the many bystanders cheering and filming the assault. As a women’s sports organization committed to fostering personal growth, self-confidence, and empowerment, we firmly believe that education plays a pivotal role in preventing aggressive behaviour such as bullying.

The recent videos of physical assault underline the urgent need for comprehensive education in non-violent communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution in schools, Foyers, Maisons Relais and all types of extracurricular clubs including sports clubs in Luxembourg. We believe that by addressing the root causes of aggressive behaviour and providing education, we can collectively make an impact in creating a society where violence is not tolerated and individuals can thrive without fear.

At this point we would like to raise awareness about responsible martial arts practices, emphasizing the importance of consent, respect, and the ethical use of self-defense techniques.

When used responsibly martial arts can serve as a powerful tool in two fundamental ways:

  • Firstly, by educating and promoting core values such as integrity and respect, it can be used as a preventive tool for aggressive behaviour in teenagers.

  • Secondly, by providing a safe and nurturing space, martial arts can offer support to victims, allowing them to heal and regain confidence within a healthy and supportive environment.

We emphasize that the practice of martial arts is not simply about physical strength and combat skills, but also about cultivating self-confidence, respect, and a sense of responsibility. Qualities that are essential in order to raise mentally and emotionally strong and balanced individuals.

At the core of our mission is the cultivation of a supportive and strong community of girls and women. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that offers a secure haven for girls and women, who have been victims of violence, through martial arts and self-defense.

Strong girls and women uplift and empower their fellow girls and women.

We strongly encourage individuals who have experienced any form of violence, harassment, or bullying to report such incidents to the appropriate authorities and seek the necessary medical and psychological support.

We wholeheartedly welcome those seeking support to reach out to us.

We extend our heartfelt support to the victim and her family and strongly urge the schools and police to take immediate and decisive action to address this crime effectively.
